Let’s Talk Modesty

Here are some videos where I have broken down Modesty and why it is important. I pray these videos will encourage you and inspire you to have a little talk with Jesus and allow him to reveal the power of living a modest, holy, set apart lifestyle today.

Dear God,

Have you ever asked this question? When it feels like your prayers fall on deaf ears, or maybe they are not heard at all, is he there? Does he hear me? Am I alone? So many questions come to mind in those moments in life when you feel truly, completely alone! It is in those moments when the enemy sneaks his little whispers into your mind, you see he thinks that you won’t recognize his voice…but he is WRONG! Just because you have questions does not mean you cannot hear his lies.

The enemy wants us to feel alone! This is exactly where he wants your mind to be…..lonely and broken, just when he has you starting to really believe that God is not hearing you when you pray, he will start to slip other little lies in as well. The funny things is…if anything can be “funny” in these moments is that he truly believes that he will get away with the lies…OH NO you don’t Satan, not today, not any day, not EVER!

In our humanity we do at times question if God hears us, ya know what, that is not new….as a part of this flesh we will experience things just like this…we must learn what to do in those moments, because that my friend, is what matters most.

It is always easy to decipher the voice of the enemy, it will be the one that says statements like; “he doesn’t hear you anyway so why keep praying”, “he didn’t answer last time and he wont answer this time either”, “God doesn’t love you after all the times you have failed him so you might as well quit”, and if he thinks he has you right where he wants you he might even try the ol’ tactic of “God is not even real anyway he is just made up”. Not today Devil! When those thoughts start coming, out of nowhere…DING DING DING…. that my friend is the enemy! He is not as sly as he thinks he is.

We must recognize those thoughts for what they are so we can stop them in their tracks. The honest answer to this issue is simple. Now notice I did not say it was easy, because anything worth having my friends…like peace of mind, strength, and Joy in the Lord…is worth fighting for! The answer is to simply PRAISE your way right out of those thoughts. That’s right go ahead get up and start dancing in the Lord. Turn on your praise music, in your car, in your home on the job if need be. Find a way, anyway possible and praise your way right into victory. It won’t be easy, guess what, it’s not ever gonna be “easy” but it will ALWAYS be worth it.

Here are some scriptures you can quote in those moments that the enemy is trying to take control of a place he does not belong…YOUR MIND!

Isaiah 41:10 – Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Deuteronomy 31:6 – Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he [it is] that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Matthew 28:20 – Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.

Hebrews 13:5 – [Let your] conversation [be] without covetousness; [and be] content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

1 Corinthians 3:16 – Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

Psalms 23:4 – Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Revelation 3:20 – Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Now we have some Tools to fight these Thoughts…What do We Do Next?

Write these verses out on flash cards. Carrying them in your pocket on the hard days. Fight back and remember that it is ok to be human. You were created human, born into a sinful world but God did not leave you alone and defenseless he quipped you with weapon for this battle. Two of those mighty weapons are here and ready to be used. Scripture and Praise! Wow, what a mighty tool in the hand of a saint of God who is hungry for JESUS!

You my friend were created for greatness and called for such a time as this to seek the throne room of God for yourself, your loved ones, your church, your Pastor, your City, your Country, and YOUR WORLD. You may feel at times like you are not heard, but that my friend is a lie, a simple strategy he tries to use against use but if we see it, we can stop it! Together we are going into battle and we will when the fight!

Zephaniah 3:17 – The LORD thy God in the midst of thee [is] mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

The scriptures are full of reminders of God being with us, in our corner and fighting for us. We won the fight before it ever began because Christ won the ultimate fight for us. What a mighty God we serve! In those moments you feel he is not there, grab ahold of the remnant of faith that you can muster up….and FIGHT with everything you have left in you, YOU WILL BE VICTORIUS!
